507 | This is the site of the British camp and Military Cemetery during the Transvaal War of Independence 1880-81 and was occupied by the British from January 24th to the end of March 1881. Many of the British soldiers who died in the actions around here, including Gen Sir George Pomeroy Colley, are buried here.

The cemetery is on private land and permission has to be obtained from the farmer to access the site.

  • Ii would like to know how to get to visit this cemetery. Gen Sir George Pomeroy was my great great uncle( his sister was my fathers great grandmother).

  • How does one get hold of the farmer in order to get permission to visit the cemetery.?

  • Just found out that my great uncle is buried here. He was 19 and stationed on the HMS Boadicea. Wondering if there are pictures of the individual graves somewhere. Thank you for the photos you do have
