Our resident guides will expertly weave the events of this time together, to create an unforgettable experience. Self-guided Trails on the property can be explored with your own steam or battlesites to Spioenkop, Colenso, Churchills Capture, Platrand/Wagonhill can be reached by vehicle. Specific interest & Group tours can also be arranged with prior notification. Within reach of the Kwazulu Natal Drakensberg range, where rolling green hills are dotted with flat-crowned Acacia trees. Although the focus is on the Anglo Boer War Battlefields, a myriad of other activities are also available at the lodge, which include horse trails, game walks, hiking, mountain biking and birding. This lodge is the perfect location to base yourself for exploring the major Anglo-Boer War Battlefields in KwaZulu Natal (Battles of Spioenkop and Colenso), the Northern Drakensberg Mountains (UNESCO World Heritage Site), and within easy (2hrs) reach of the Anglo-Zulu War Battlefields (Battles of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift).
