Battle of Wagon Hill 6th January 1900
The Battle of Wagon Hill and Caesar’s Camp was fought on 6th January 1900 when the Boers attacked the position at around 02h00 in the morning and went on all day until the British were able to force the last Boers from their position with a bayonet charge around 17h00 in pouring rain. The famous “Charge of the Devons”.

Great site. My grandfather fought at both Ladysmith and Elandslaagre. He was in the Imperial Light Horse and was wounded on Wagon Hill. Lucky for me he survived and came to Western Australia where he raised his family.
I would love to visit the above museums and battlefields. Perhaps I will one day.
